JOB OVERVIEW:

Responsible for the overall management and strategic direction of contract manufacturing operations. Ensures a continuous supply of outsourced finished goods at the optimal cost, consistent with established service, quality, and product standards. Fully supports new product development initiatives through management of a robust network of contract manufacturers. Manages contract bidding process as needed across Supply Chain using appropriate methodology.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsible for leading all aspects of out-sourced contract manufacturing and new product development.
  • Develops short and long-term strategies for ACH co-manufacturing needs.
  • Serve as part of ACH teams tasked with evaluating make vs. buy decisions.
  • Seeks out best in class supplier partnerships. Develops a broad catalog of contract manufactures with abilities to meet current and future business needs. This will include incorporating a variety of partners to support projects ranging from small exploratory concepts to large national distribution products.
  • Serves as a lead representing supply chain & procurement on project teams. Coordinates with internal cross-functional groups to identify materials and/or services required for new products or product changes.
  • Serve as project manager for new supplier qualification and supplier transition projects.
  • Identifies and implements cost saving and/or quality improvement opportunities.
  • Manages financial and capacity risks with contract manufactures and communicates potential risks to the Business Units. Annually prepares standard costs and forecasts for all co-manufactured SKUs
  • Oversees ERP contract management, contract pricing, and invoice resolution for all co-pack suppliers.
  • With limited oversight, understand and negotiate contract terms and conditions.
  • Ability to develop and maintain relationships with internal stakeholders at all levels of the organization to enable optimal outcomes - including senior/executive stakeholders
  • Manages relationships with ACH contract manufacturers. Resolves supplier performance and supply chain issues through effective KPIs and data-driven accountability.
  • Supports Product Development, Marketing, Quality, Packaging, and other departments as required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned such as support Supply Chain RFPs.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's Degree in business, engineering or related field
  • 7+ years of purchasing and/or manufacturing experience in a CPG environment. Contract manufacturing & experience working with copackers from small to large is highly preferred.
  • Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, SAP (or other ERP platform), Microsoft Project, eSourcing platforms
  • Analytical Synthesizes complex or diverse information; Collects and researches data; Uses intuition and experience to complement data.
  • Problem Solving Identifies and resolves problems in a timely manner; Gathers and analyzes information skillfully; Works well in group problem solving situations.
